Find the Hotel
Travelers mostly choose to get to Wayanad by road, since the district does not have its own airport or railway station. The nearest major airport is at Calicut International Airport (CCJ) in Kozhikode, about 2½ to 3 hours drive from the resort. The journey from the airport comprises beautiful uplands via Thamarassery Ghat Road - a famous mountain pass having nine hairpin bends. The best way easier and most convenient way would be pre-booking a taxi from the airport up to the resort.
Private vehicle travelers will find that this is the most convenient way of getting to and exploring Wayanad. The last stretch leading up to Rain Country Resort comprises a narrow somewhat bumpy plantation road. It is strongly recommended to reach here during daylight hours as it would make the last leg of the journey simpler. Secure on-site parking has been made available for guests at the resort.
Get on a bus, and both government (KSRTC) and private buses are playing from major cities like Kozhikode, Mysore, or Bangalore to the nearest town Vythiri or Kalpetta. From the city bus stand, hire a local auto-rickshaw or jeep taxi for the final leg up to the resort because it is situated quite off the main road. Make sure your driver knows exactly where he is going-Rain Country Resort, Lakkidi.
